Funding success for city Music Hub

Having functioned as a hive of activity for music education in Liverpool for many years, Liverpool Music Support Service has been successful in an ambitious bid to lead the city in the establishment of a Music Education Hub for Liverpool.

Funded by the Arts Council England, the Hub will act as a gateway for Liverpool's young musicians, meaning more than 4,000 Year 4 pupils in Liverpool will now have access to outstanding music opportunities which will impact their lives and enhance our city.

“We have big ambitions for the future of Liverpool’s music education; if every child is learning an instrument that makes for a lot of bands, groups, choirs and concerts. It also means that our pool for identifying talent will expand, and we know that Liverpool has a legacy of producing world leading talent in music.

“Music encourages creative thinking, it engenders in our young people a sense of belonging, it promotes team work and provides opportunities for communication and expression. What a truly fantastic set of outcomes for our future workforce and community.” Jonathan Dickson Head of Service
